Because of its varied terrain and intimate atmosphere, it is a favorite summer training facility of many World Cup race teams from around the world, including the United States, Canada, Norwegian, and Austrian Ski Teams.

In addition to its fabulous terrain all above timberline, dining in Portillo is an experience in itself. From the classic dining room to the cozy bar or spectacular on-mountain Tio Bob’s restaurant, mealtime in Portillo is designed to be friendly, fun, and unique!

Hotel Portillo

The iconic Hotel Portillo has 123 rooms all with spectacular views of the Inca Lagoon or the Valley area. The Hotel is the epicenter of the resort and, apart from on-mountain lunch spots, all dining and recreational activities are conveniently located within the hotel.

Octagon Lodge

Just adjacent to the main hotel, the Octagon Lodge offers rooms for up to 4 people. Each Octagon room features two comfortable bunk beds and a private bathroom. Guests will dine in the Hotel and enjoy access to all of the hotel’s facilities and activities. Camp dates, schedule & Pricing

2026 Portillo, CHILE

  • Portillo (Aug 1-8, 2026)

Portillo Camp dates are August 1-8 (+ travel) for 8 days on snow

– July 31st – depart the U.S. in the evening and arrive in Santiago the morning of the 1st.

– August 1st (Day 1) – shuttle from Santiago to Portillo.  Have lunch, warm up free ski if you still have energy -and an evening Welcome Cocktail Reception, followed by dinner.

– August 2nd to 7th (Days 2 to 7) 

  • 8am – Breakfast in the main dining room
  • 9:30 – Morning Ski Session
    Warm up free skiing, followed by performance coaching – focus on stance, dynamic balance, skiing mechanics, flow, carving.
  • 12:30pm – Lunch at our table in the main dining room, or on-mountain at Tio Bob’s!
  • 1:45 – Afternoon Ski Session
    Adventure skiing – explore Portillo’s terrain, ski conditions du jour, tactics for steeps, bumps, powder, crud.
  • 4:00pm – Wrap up the ski day, get out of your ski boots and head to the cinema for video review.
  • 4:30pm – Debrief
    Video Review and Analysis in the cinema, and planning for the next day.
  • 5:00 – Tea-time, Chilean Style or start down time early by relaxing in the hot tub!
  • 6:00 – Down time
    Visit the fitness center for a work out, or the spa for a massage, hit the climbing wall or head to the game room, shoot hoops in the gymnasium, take a nap and just relax before dinner, or hit up the bar for a drink and appetizer.
  • 7:30 – Dinner at our table in the Hotel dining room
  • 10:00pm – Head to bed, or visit the Portillo bar for live music and dancing!

– August 8th (Day 8) includes morning free skiing, and shuttle ride to Santiago for your night flight home.

– August 9th – Arrive back in the U.S.

The on-snow and off-snow topics for each day will be adjusted to the participants’ needs and wishes but will include:

Exploring the mountain!  Skiing conditions du jour while Developing tactics and confidence in crud, bumps, powder, and steeps.
Developing skills in all conditions and terrain with feedback suited to each participant. (Stance, balance, turning, edging and pressure control skills)
Personal coaching based on skiing performance and video review
Evening video review of the day’s performance.
Identifying an improvement plan for continued progress after camp.
Heli-skiing optional (involves an additional fee)

*For all Hotel Portillo double occupancy rooms, we will attempt to pair you with another DSC participant of the same gender, but we cannot guarantee a roommate will be available. If a roommate is not available, your lodging will default to a Single room in the Hotel, and the price will adjust accordingly. For Octagon double room, your lodging will default to Triple or Quad and price will adjust accordingly.

Once you have paid your deposit, We will send you an invoice showing your balance and due date.

*There are many medical insurance providers. Make sure risks associated with ski training are covered. For our coaches, we use Seven Corners. The cost is about $75 for traveling to Chile for 10 days with coverage under the “Travel Medical lnsurance” policy. Please note this is not an endorsement or recommendation, we just share information.

  • Please arrive in time to board our Private Shuttle, departing SCL airport at 9am.  Arrival by 7am should accomplish this.

  • Note:  If you are unable to make our shuttle for any reason, including airline delays or flight cancellations, you are responsible for the cost of your transportation to Portillo.

Cancellation Policy:

Deposit refundable until 60 days prior to the first day of camp (minus a 15% cancellation fee).  Within 60 days, of the first day of the trip, all deposits are non-refundable even in the event of sudden illness or injury to you or your family.  We recommend that you purchase trip cancellation insurance available through most travel or insurance agencies.

SKI CAMP RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Please Read Carefully.  This is a release of liability and waiver of certain legal rights.

The below named participant (“Participant”) understands that skiing, and other snow sliding and snow play sports (“Skiing”) can be hazardous and that injuries are common. Participant accepts and assumes the risks associated with Skiing, including, but not limited to, changing weather conditions, variations and steepness in terrain, snow/ice conditions, avalanches, surface or subsurface conditions, bare spots, creeks and gullies, forest growth, rocks, stumps, course design and maintenance, terrain feature design and maintenance, the use of lifts, collisions with natural or manmade objects or other persons, defective Skiing equipment, grooming and snowmobile equipment, lift towers and other structures and their components, falling, loss of control, selection of terrain, and exceeding one’s ability. Participant is the sole judge of his/her ability to negotiate any terrain or perform any maneuver whether or not directed by someone else. Participant hereby expressly assumes all risk of injury and death associated with Skiing.

Participant also understands that all other activities (“Other Activities”) available at or through “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC” DBA Destination Ski Camps, can be dangerous and that injuries are common. Other Activities may take place on or off “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC” premises. Participant is the sole judge of his/her ability to participate in any Other Activities whether or not directed by someone else. Participant hereby expressly assumes all risk of injury and death associated with Other Activities.

In consideration for the use of any facilities, services, equipment, transportation, and premises, Participant hereby agrees to release and indemnify, defend, and hold harmless to the extent allowed by law, “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC”, and its/their owners, employees, partners, directors, officers, contractors, agents, and affiliated companies from all claims by or on behalf of Participant against “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC” arising directly or indirectly out of Participant’s participation in Skiing, Other Activities, and/or the use of any “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC” facilities, services, transportation, equipment, or premises. This release includes claims arising from any cause whatsoever, including, but not limited to, negligence on the part of “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC”. If Participant is a minor, the parent or guardian agrees to indemnify (including costs and attorney fees) “Eric Lipton Ski Training, LLC” for any claim brought on behalf of any minor named below.
